Submission details.
We are looking for abstracts summarising audits, original research or projects, systematic reviews and meta-analysis from medical students, foundation doctors and senior trainees. When submitting your abstract, please indicate if you would like to have your abstract considered for poster presentation, oral presentation, or both.
Once submitted, your abstract will be reviewed by our scientific panel consisting of consultants in Derriford Hospital who have extensive experience in the field research and surgery. There will be prizes for the best oral and best poster presentation. We will be posting up more updates regarding prizes as we get closer to the event date, but if you would like to make an enquiry, please send an email to [email protected].

It will now close at Noon 12pm on Sunday, 18th of March 2018.
Abstract results will be announced by the Monday, 2nd April 2018.

Submission guidance.
We are pleased to consider abstracts covering all specialties of surgery. This year, we are looking for abstracts under the scope of:
When submitting:
- Surgical equipment
- Surgical materials
- Surgical techniques
- Innovations in surgical practice
- Innovations in surgical education
When submitting:
- Abstracts must be no more than 200 words in length.
- All accepted and presented abstracts will be published online on our website and event booklet.
- Each individual may only submit a maximum of 2 abstracts for consideration, irrespective of their authorship position on these.
- The submitting author should be the author presenting at the conference.
- Abstracts should be formatted with an Aim, Method, Results and Conclusions.
